Piedras Niegras Restaurant

Earlier, I told you about Mi Tierra… the good, but touristy and over-priced Mexican restaurant here in San Antonio. Today, I ate at a great Mexican spot where the food was delicious and appropriately priced. Piedras Niegras is located a few exits south of Mi Tierra on I-35. I had a tasty enchilada plate that including three enchiladas, rice, beans and tortillas for just $4.95. That’s a deal! I sound like Rachel Ray!

Anyway, there’s not much ambience, but the place is packed. In fact, my father had to get up twice so people could take their seats next to us. They cram as many tables as they can into the tiny place. So… if you head to the Mercado and Mi Tierra is packed, head south on I-35 (S. Laredo exit), your tastebuds and pocketbook will thank you.
