Tony Loves Eggs with Chorizo!

I sat down and had a great conversation with Tony Romo’s grandparents today… Ramiro and Felicita Romo. They attended practice again today along with dozens of his cousins from right here in San Antonio. Tony’s great aunt, Soccorro, lives here so there were plenty of primos (cousins) here. I’m sure there were some he didn’t even know! I can relate!

Tony’s abuela (grandmother) was especially gracious. She acknowledged she sends scripture passages to her grandson. Felicita also told me Tony loves her to make him huevos con chorizo (eggs and Mexican sausage) with homemade tortillas. She had me missing my abuela!!

Look for more with Tony’s abuelo and abuelita this Sunday on Sports Extra.

T-Glenn Needs Scope; TO Gets Break

Terry Glenn is heading back to Dallas tonight. Tomorrow he will have his knee scoped and will be out at least two weeks. That means Glenn will miss the rest of camp and at least the first preseason game of the year.

Terrell Owens’ hamstring is sore and he got the day off. Head Coach Wade Phillips says TO will likely be back tomorrow, “but don’t hold me to it.”

T-Glenn Still Out

Terry Glenn wasn’t in pads today, but there is good news. The MRI on his knee was negative. Still no word on when he will be back in action. Kevin Burnett was held out again because he got dinged in the head. Burnett complained of a headached today and was held out for precautionary reasons.

Flozell Pulls A Fast One

Flozell Adams deed indeed practice today and he looks like he hasn’t lost a step… as evidence, we tried to stop him for an interview and he blew past us. I guess the knee is fine! Flo didn’t want to talk. His offensive line coach, Tony Sparano, did. He told us Flozell looks good and he was happy with his return.

Flozell Likely Back Tomorrow

Flozell Adams should be back at practice tomorrow. He hasn’t practiced in training camp because he’s still recuperating from knee surgery.

Interesting to see if Terry Glenn will be back. He limped off the field with a knee injury after getting tangled up with Terence Newman today.

Roy’s Weight Loss Program

A lot of you have emailed me about Roy Williams’ weight loss program. He told us live last night that he is down to his rookie playing weight because of an off-season diet/weight loss plan. The product he used is Isagenix. It doesn’t get a lot of press. In fact, I’ve never seen an ad for it or anything. Apparently, Roy heard about it from former Cowboy Daryl Johnston. You can get more information on the product at www.roywilliams31.isagenix.com

Williams Lays Wood!

It’s the biggest hit in camp so far. Roy Williams laid a big hit on wide receiver, Miles Austin, in today’s afternoon practice. The hit drew oooo’s and ah’s from the fans. Austin says no big deal… he can take a hit.

Roy looks good. He’s slimmed down and is flying to the ball. He’s also in great shape. He’s down to his rookie weight. We talk live with the Pro Bowl safety tonight at 10.

Ellis Gives Timetable

Greg Ellis says we should know by late next week the plans for his future. Ellis is coming off of surgery on his achilles and he is seeking a new contract. The achilles is still sore and Ellis hasn’t practiced since the opening minutes of the first practice. Combine that with the fact that the veteran wants a new deal and his future with the Cowboys could be in doubt. He even alluded to the fact that he may have to end his career with another team… a la Emmitt Smith. Stay tuned.

Primetime Talks Hall of Fame

Deion Sanders attended today’s early practice. He’s in town covering camp for the NFL Network. Sanders says this team is happy, loose and playing well. He joked everyone is in a good mood including team mascot, Rowdy!

Sanders says he will be in Canton next week for Michael Irvin’s enshrinement into the NFL Hall of Fame. He says Michael deserves it. He also says former Cowboy, Charles Haley, should also be in the Hall. I agree!!! We asked Deion what team he will go in with… he declined to answer. Deion played for the Falcons, Cowboys, 49ers, Redskins and Ravens. Deion played five seasons in Atlanta and five seasons with the Cowboys… I say he’ll go in as a Falcon or Cowboy. I’m thinking the Cowboys.

Spencer Arrives; Baker Cut

Anthony Spencer did make it to practice. He arrived about an hour into workouts. After stretching extensively, he hit the field and got in a couple of plays.

Also… reserve quarterback, Matt Baker, was cut today. That leaves Grapevine’s Richard Bartel and rookie Matt Moore as the two guys who will battle for the third QB spot.
